Unidentified gunned men opened fire at passers-by killing at least 8 in downtown Port-au-Prince, this Saturday.

Those killed were apparently peaceful passer-by minding their personal business when the gunmen on motorcycles opened random fire. The shooting took place at around 4:00 p.m.

The reasons for this new tragedy have so far been unknown. Police did not immediately release any additional information about the incident.

However, Haiti police have carried out a muscular operation in the neighborhood of Martissant this week looking for gang lords in order to regain control of this strategic area of the troubled Haiti capital.
